Energy demand is reliably forecast to continue to increase and there is much less confidence that supply, particularly of oil, can increase in proportion. The political instability in many of the oil producing regions has motivated governments to address energy security. The overwhelming acceptance of human activity as a cause of climate change is driving the expansion of sustainable energy industries.
